AI agent vs chatbot
The words get mixed up. Here is how we use them, with examples from Concierge and Voz.
What is the difference between an AI agent and a chatbot?
A chatbot typically answers questions in a fixed flow. An AI agent does a job end to end: it answers from approved information, takes an action such as booking or routing, and hands off to a person when the job needs one.
What you get
Who it’s for
Teams deciding whether a simple chatbot is enough or whether they need an agent.

- 02Examples from Concierge and Voz, agents we build and run
- 03A way to tell which one your job needs
Decide by the job
If the job is answering a handful of fixed questions, a chatbot can be enough. If the job includes qualifying a lead, booking a time, answering from your own information and passing a hard case to a person, you are describing an agent.
Either way, the same rules protect the customer: answers come from approved information, and a person is one step away.
| Point | Chatbot | AI agent (for example Concierge) |
|---|---|---|
| What it does | Answers questions, typically in a fixed flow | Does a job end to end: answers, qualifies, books, escalates |
| What it knows | Whatever it was scripted or trained with | Your own approved information |
| Taking action | Usually limited | Books, routes and takes messages |
| When it is stuck | May loop or fail | Hands the conversation to a person with the full thread |
| Where it works | Often one website widget | WhatsApp and the phone, in English and Spanish |
How it works
A 30-minute call
We map the problem and decide together whether it is a product or a custom build. It is free.
A written scope
Nothing is built before both sides agree, in writing, on what done means. Custom work is quoted in writing.
Built, then operated
You see the work before launch. Every build arrives with a runbook, a recovery plan and a changelog, and we keep it running.
Pricing
The first call is free. Custom work is quoted in writing before anything starts. Pricing depends on scope and volume, and we quote it in writing.
